I replaced the vehicle speed sensor in my 200 hyundai sonata but rpm readings are still 0?

A while ago my hyundai sonata 6 cyl began to experience spotty problems with rpm sensing.. the check engine came on. Idiagnosed at autozone and proceeded to replace the speed sensor on the transmition. (The one under the air filter). However I'm still reading a zero rpm. What should I do next?
