Can i become a faster sprinter? Like what should i do to increase my sprinting speed and decrease the 40 yard?

I wanna be running back for football in 10th grade and i lift weights but im not black so im gonna have to work extra hard XD. To increase my speed should i sprint for like 30 minutes a day and also should working my legs out with extremely heavy weights increase my acceleration and speed. Like squats dead lifts and lunges?
