Microbiology Question?

Since an Rh(-) mother does not have the Rh antigen present, then the mother will have antibodies to it. If the baby has the Rh antigen then the baby can get hemolytic disease. Mothers that are Rh(+) do not make antibodies to this antigen because their immune system recognizes it as a "self" protein, and thus their babies will not have hemolytic disease
