Specific type of car/motorcycle for story?

If I wanted to use a name brand car as the car owned by someone in one of my stories is that legal? For example ford mustang, or ford Shelby. Or I wanted to use a Harley Davidson motorcycle or something. Basically if I had a story with a character that owned and/or used one of those regularly in a story would that be legal or would they come after me for copyright infringement?
